Coin Dealer Serving Washington, DC

The District’s by-appointment coin buyer. All four quadrants covered, Northwest (NW), Northeast (NE), Southwest (SW), and Southeast (SE), with dedicated pages for every quadrant and the neighborhoods within them. About 25 minutes from our Falls Church base.

Why DC Sellers Choose a Credentialed Numismatist

Washington, DC holds some of the deepest residential coin collections anywhere in the country. Between multi-generational District families, Foreign Service and diplomatic households, longtime federal employees, embassy staff, and academic families anchored to Georgetown University, American University, and George Washington, the District is unusually rich in serious numismatic material, pre-1933 U.S. gold, complete type sets, world gold from foreign postings, important U.S. paper currency, and meaningful 19th- and 20th-century U.S. silver. As an ANA and PNG member, Hunter Hicks brings the credentials, the documentation, and the price discipline that this kind of material deserves, and does it all inside your DC home rather than asking you to box anything up and bring it to a storefront.

Start With Your DC Quadrant

Every DC address has a quadrant in it (NW, NE, SW, or SE), so we organize our DC coverage the same way. Pick yours for neighborhood-level detail:

  • Northwest DC (NW): the largest quadrant. Covers everything from Foggy Bottom and Dupont Circle to Cleveland Park, Tenleytown, Petworth, Columbia Heights, U Street, Adams Morgan, and the upper NW neighborhoods.
  • Northeast DC (NE): Brookland, H Street / Atlas District, Eckington, NoMa, Michigan Park, Trinidad, Capitol Hill NE, and Hill East corners.
  • Southeast DC (SE): Capitol Hill SE, Navy Yard, Hill East, Barney Circle, Anacostia, Hillcrest, Congress Heights, and Bellevue.
  • Southwest DC (SW): The Wharf, Southwest Waterfront, Buzzard Point, L’Enfant Plaza, and the SW residential blocks.

Popular DC Neighborhoods With Dedicated Pages

For neighborhoods that draw a lot of DC-wide searches, we’ve built focused pages: Capitol Hill, Georgetown, Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, and Kalorama. Upper NW estate areas have their own pages too: Spring Valley and Wesley Heights. Everything else, Logan Circle, Shaw, U Street, Mount Pleasant, Columbia Heights, Petworth, Cleveland Park, Forest Hills, Tenleytown, Chevy Chase DC, Brookland, Hill East, the Wharf, Navy Yard, Anacostia, and beyond, is covered on the relevant quadrant page above.

How DC Visits Work

From Falls Church, the typical DC drive is about 25 minutes, Chain Bridge into upper Northwest, GW Parkway and Key Bridge into Georgetown and central NW, or 66 and the 14th Street Bridge into the southern quadrants. Appointments are flexible around evenings and weekends, and Hunter typically arrives within 24–48 hours. Payment is settled on the spot in your preferred form (check, ACH, or wire), and you receive a complete written record of every item evaluated.
